About
A holding company built like the businesses inside it.
New Dominion exists to own and operate a small number of focused businesses for a long time. We measure ourselves in decades, not quarters, and in the quality of the products our customers actually use.
Operating philosophy
Six principles we hold ourselves to.
01
Capital allocation
We invest internally first. Cash earned by one venture funds the next, with discipline borrowed from owner-operators we admire. We are not in a hurry to grow the parent for its own sake.
02
Brand independence
Each portfolio company keeps its own name, voice, and customer relationship. The parent is the steward, not the storefront. Customers rarely need to think about us at all.
03
Technical excellence
We build software that we ourselves would deploy in production. That sets a floor on craft — observability, testing, security, and the boring parts that compound — across every company.
04
Long-term ownership
We are not building to sell. We optimize for products that earn the right to exist for a long time, and for teams that want to work on them for years rather than quarters.
05
Regional roots
Headquartered in Alabama, distributed by default. We hire in the South first because we know the talent, and remote everywhere else because we trust adults to do their work.
06
Builder-operator culture
Everyone ships. The principle is simple: no one in the company is too senior to read a pull request or take a customer call. The work earns the title, not the other way around.
